[6406] Cybersecurity Technician

Clearance: NATO Cosmic Top Secret
Location: Brussels, Belgium

Requirements
• Higher secondary education with at least 3 years of post-related experience, including at least 1 year of post-related CIS security experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and platforms, update service platforms and technologies, and IP-based networking and devices.
• At least 1 year of experience with firewall and intrusion detection technologies.
• Ability to identify and describe computer and network anomalies within a CIS environment and assess and resolve technical issues.
• At least 1 year of experience with security tools, including firewalls, proxies, guard technologies, SIEM solutions, and scanning tools.
• At least 1 year of experience with Security Operations Centre (SOC) processes and procedures.
• At least 1 year of experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing techniques, log fusion, and log analysis.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work outside regular office hours when required.
• English language proficiency at Level V (Advanced).

Desirable
• Knowledge of NATO security policies and supporting directives.
• Experience working in a multinational environment.
• Familiarity with NATO structures and procedures.
• Experience applying techniques and methods for source verification, data fusion, quality analysis, and threat actor profiling.

Duties & Role
• Provide 2nd level technical support for complex cybersecurity activities, with a focus on CIS monitoring and security incident response.
• Support the day-to-day security testing, verification, scanning, monitoring, updating, baselining, improvement, and documentation of cybersecurity capabilities within the BICES NATO HQ Element networks.
• Monitor and assess the security posture of BICES NATO HQ Element networks.
• Report security findings, discoveries, and the status of the network security posture.
• Contribute to the monitoring, analysis, and modification of security services.
• Support cybersecurity incident response and the investigation of technical security issues.
• Work with firewalls, proxies, guard technologies, SIEM solutions, and security scanning tools.
• Analyse security logs and network data to identify anomalies, threats, and potential security incidents.
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Coordinate closely with BGX Security Officers and Engineers under the supervision of the BSU Chief.
• Provide operational support within a Secure Facility environment.
• Undertake operational deployments and/or travel assignments within and outside NATO territory when required.
• Work outside normal office hours when required.
